Data Retention

Data Retention

Blimey retains different types of data for different periods to balance detail with storage efficiency.

Individual check data — 3 days

Each individual uptime check (with status, response time, status code, and timestamp) is kept for 3 days. After that, the individual records are automatically cleaned up.

This means the detailed bar chart and recent checks table show data from the last 3 days at most.

Daily summaries — kept long-term

Every day, Blimey creates a summary of your store's performance including:

  • Total checks, successful checks, failed checks
  • Average, minimum, maximum, and P95 response times
  • Daily uptime percentage

These summaries are kept indefinitely and power the long-term trend charts (Response Time Trends and Daily Uptime).

Incidents — kept long-term

All incident records (outages with start time, end time, and duration) are kept indefinitely for your records.

What this means for you

  • Short timeframes (1h, 6h, 12h, 24h, 3d): You'll see individual check data as bar charts
  • Longer timeframes (7d, 14d, 30d, 3mo+): You'll see daily trend data. Individual checks from beyond 3 days won't appear in the bar chart, but the trend charts show aggregated data for the full period.
