Notification Preferences

Blimey gives you granular control over when and how you receive alert emails.

Available settings

Notification toggles

  • Uptime Notifications — Enable/disable downtime and recovery alerts
  • Shopify Status Notifications — Enable/disable platform-wide issue alerts

Recipients

  • Admin Email — Toggle to include your Shopify admin email
  • Additional Emails — Add comma-separated email addresses for team members or developers

Alert timing

  • Alert Cooldown — Minimum time between alert emails (1 min to 1 hour). Prevents notification spam when your store is flapping.
  • Downtime Alert Delay — Wait time before sending the first downtime alert (0 to 10 min). Avoids alerts for brief blips that resolve themselves.
  • Uptime Notifications: Enabled
  • Alert Cooldown: 5 minutes
  • Downtime Alert Delay: 2 minutes
  • Admin Email: Enabled

Tips

  • Add your developer's email as an additional recipient so they can investigate issues immediately
  • Use a longer alert delay if you experience frequent brief blips that aren't real outages
  • Increase cooldown if you're getting too many emails during flapping incidents
