What is platform monitoring?

Shopify has many services that power your store — checkout, API, admin, storefront rendering, and more. When Shopify has platform-wide issues, it can affect all stores, not just yours.

Blimey periodically checks Shopify's status page to detect these platform-wide issues.

What gets tracked

Blimey monitors the status of various Shopify components and detects when any of them report issues. When a new issue is detected, it's recorded and displayed in your dashboard.

Where to see platform status

  • Dashboard — Active platform issues are shown prominently if any exist
  • Shopify Status page — A dedicated page showing current Shopify platform status

Why this matters

If your store is experiencing issues, knowing whether it's a Shopify-wide problem helps you decide how to respond:

  • Shopify issue → Wait for Shopify to resolve it. No action needed on your end.
  • Your store only → Investigate your store's configuration, theme, apps, or domain settings.
