Understanding Response Time Charts

Blimey provides several charts to help you visualise your store's performance over time.

Response Time Bar Chart

The main chart shows response times as vertical bars:

  • Green bars — Successful checks where your store responded normally
  • Yellow bars — Degraded checks where your store responded with warnings
  • Red bars — Failed checks where your store was down or erroring

For shorter timeframes (up to a few hours), each bar represents an individual check.

For longer timeframes (24 hours+), bars are automatically aggregated into hourly averages. The chart heading will show "Response Time (Hourly Avg)" when this is active. Hover over any bar to see the number of checks included in that hour.

Choosing a timeframe

Use the timeframe picker in the top-right corner of the Performance & Availability section. Options include:

  • Last 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours
  • Last 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days
  • Last 3 months, 6 months, 1 year
  • Custom date range

For timeframes of 3 days or longer, an additional trend chart appears showing:

  • Average Response (blue line) — The daily average response time
  • P95 Response (orange dashed line) — The 95th percentile response time

This helps you spot long-term trends and performance changes.

Daily Uptime Chart

Also shown for longer timeframes, this chart displays your daily uptime percentage as a filled area chart. Hover to see the exact percentage and number of checks for each day.

Tips for reading charts

  • Consistent green bars at similar heights = healthy, stable store
  • Occasional spikes are normal — look for patterns
  • Gradually increasing response times may indicate growing performance issues
  • Clusters of red bars suggest a genuine outage, not just a blip
